I think Lake Taupo should be one of the natural wonders of the world because it is a natural attribute of our country. Taupo was formed by a gigantic volcanic eruption many years befor man inhabite our country. Through this eruption the lake was formed and is a significant feature if the North Island.

The lake provides many opportunities to a great number of people nationally and internationally. the lake is well known for trout fishing and attracts many people for this reason alone. It is also used recreationally for boating, sailing, waterskiing and swimming.
